Drawings to Specification. [Class 38 (ii)] In order to equalize the distribution of reverse voltage over a number of gas-filled incandescent cathode rectifiers operating in series, the conditions are made such that the rectifiers operate with a small reverse current during the blocking period sufficient to cause a glow discharge, but not an,arc discharge, the rectifiers being selected to have equal currentvoltage characteristics under glow discharge conditions.
