Abstract
382,934. Discharge lamps. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Aug. 18, 1932, No. 23179. Convention date, Aug. 20, 1931. Addition to 376,668, [Group XI]. [Class 39 (i).] A discharge tube 9 for use in a beacon light contains neon at a pressure of nine mms., incandescent cathodes 10, 11 and auxiliary electrodes 12, 13 made of zirconium wire which has been superficially oxidized. The latter are connected in circuit with resistances 33, a pushbutton current-interrupter 19 used for signalling purposes, and the secondary winding 32 of a transformer 31 having its primary winding 30 in parallel with the primary winding 24 of a transformer 23 which has two secondary windings 25, 26 to the mid-points of which are connected conductors 27, 28 which supply the main discharge current to the tube 9 through an impedance 29. The transformer 23 is supplied from a source 20 of alternating current through fuses 21 and a switch 22.
