Abstract
533,301. Cathode-ray tubes ; television. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and SMYTH, C. N. Aug. 9, 1939, No. 22979. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (iii)] A pair of deflecting coils L1, L2, Fig. 2, for a cathode-ray tube intended for example for television receivers is fed in parallel for deflecting the ray in one direction and in series for deflecting the ray in the other direction, at right angles to the first. The feeding circuit may be as shown in Fig. 6, line scanning and frame scanning controls being fed through separate transformers T1, T2 one supplying the coils L1, L2 in parallel and the other in series. Alternatively the coils may be connected to a pair of valves operating in parallel for one control and in push-pull for the other.
