Abstract
515,947. Television ; thermionic oscilllators. BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., and TINGLEY, G. R. June 14, 1938, No. 17613. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] A scanning oscillator, for deflecting a cathode-ray beam over an inclined screen, has an additional winding 5 in its grid circuit associated with the main focusing coil 7 so as to maintain the beam in focus at all points on the screen ; the resistance of the winding 5 is so chosen that the wave-form is modified to produce a uniform rate of movement of the beam over the screen. In a modification, the winding 5 may be in parallel with winding 4 (Fig. 2, not shown). Specifications 445,094, 463,896 and 463,972 are referred to.
