[Classes 39 (i) and 40 (iii)] To maintain sharpness of the image point when the ray is deflected widely a correcting voltage of parabolic wave form is applied to one 13 of two electrodes 5, 13 forming a. lens for focusing the beam on the screen; the voltage is obtained from the saw-tooth, deflecting voltages by integrating condensers 11, 11<1> connected to the deflecting plates 3, 3<1> through resistances 10, 10<1>. The electrode 13 receives a steady bias from the potentiometer 17. The correcting voltage supplied from the potentiometer 18 may be. amplified and the voltage to be integrated may be taken off a winding 14a on the relaxation oscillation generator 14 for the deflecting voltage. With electromagnetic focusing the correcting voltage is supplied to the focusing coil.
