Abstract
424,690. Cathode-ray tubes. FERNSEH AKT.-GES., Goerzallee, Zehlendorf, Berlin. Aug. 25, 1933, No. 23681. Convention date, Sept. 1, 1932. [Class 39 (i)] The cathode is carried by a glass tube 5, Fig. 1, fitting into a glass tube 6 permanently sealed in the cylindrical shaft or other envelope part containing the electrodes, and sliding guides are provided for aligning the cathode when the tube 5 is fitted into the tube 6. These guides may be formed by the close fit between the tubes 5, 6 or a metal part 31, Fig. 2, secured to but insulated from the cathode 1 may slide into the Wehnelt cylinder 22 or other electrode or into a part independent of the electrodes. The tubes 5, 6 are sealed together at their outer end 4 to facilitate renewal of the cathode. The pinch 7 on the tube 5 carries the evacuating tube and may carry the Wehnelt cylinder or other electrodes as well as the cathode. The tubes 2 accommodate electrode leads.
