Convention date, Oct. 17, 1932. [Class 39 (i)] In a Braun tube having a first anode 2 near the cathode, a metal. lized picture screen 4 at a high positive potential acting as second anode and deflecting plates between the anodes 2, 4, a metal wall-coating 3 of width, in the direction of the length of the tube, not greater than one-sixth of this length, is provided near the screen 4 and is maintained at a negative potential relatively to the anodes 2, 4 to concentrate the ray. The tube may contain gas at not more than 10-4 mm. pressure.
