[Class 39 (i)] The ceramic envelope of a discharge tube comprises parts on which electrodes are mounted and which are so shaped and proportioned that they can be fitted together without the aid of gauging tools. As shown, the part 7 has a shoulder 12 which engages the cylindrical part 1. The parts are sealed together in a furnace by glass 13.
