Oct. 7, 1933, No. 27677. Convention date, Oct. 7, 1932. [Class 123 (ii).] In a steam boiler and furnace in which the boiler tubes substantially delineate the furnace walls, the natural circulation in tubes 40, 36, forming the rear of the combustion chamber 10 and connecting headers 43, 38, is accelerated by connecting the outlet tubes 49 from an economizer 12, having forced water or steam circulation to the header 38. The ends of the tubes 49 are tapered to form nozzles 49a, Fig. 4, which extend into the lower end of the tubes 36, The inlet header 16 of the economizer is connected to a feed pump.
