Abstract
374,800. Water-tube steam boilers. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd., Babcock House, Farringdon Street, London.-(Babcock & Wilcox Co.; 85, Liberty Street, New York, U.S.A.). Jan. 8, 1932, No. 645. [Classes 123 (ii) and 123 (iii).] Wet steam from a continuous tube boiler 7 discharges into a separator 11, in which the separated water is heated to generate fresh steam by steam from a superheater 28, as described in Specification 349,826, and water is circulated in a closed circuit through the boiler by the feed pump 4 which is connected on its inlet side to the water space of the separator by a pipe 12. Fresh feed is supplied by a pump 1 through a valve 2 controlled by a float 13 in the separator. Steam is drawn from the separator and forced through the superheater by a pump 22. A thermostat 36 in he superheater outlet header controls a valve 32 in the pipe 33 conducting superheated steam into the water-space of the separator. The air and fuel supplies to the burner 41 are controlled by devices operated by the boiler pressure communicated through a pipe 38.
