Abstract

399,403. Traverse mechanism for winding tapered bottle-shaped bobbins. HEINITZ, W. R., 24, Neefestrasse, Chemnitz, Germany. March 8, 1933, No. 7054. [Class 120 (ii).] The progression wheel 16 of traverse mechanism in frames for winding tapered or bottle-shaped is advanced by means of a fluted spindle 18 which is operatively connected to a shaft 31, the latter being driven by a disc 24 provided with adjustable driving pins 25 or by a stepped pinion. The slidable mounting of the pins 25 permits the movement of one or more thereof into position to engage a notched wheel 29 and provides means whereby the progression wheel 16 can be driven at a speed appropriate to the thickness of the yarn being worried. A locking lever 37 having a tooth 38 is moved into engagement with a ratchet 35 by the inoperative pins on the disc so as to hold the shaft 31 stationary during inoperative periods. The disc 24 may be replaced by a stepped pinion and the variation in the drive effected by relative displacement of the driving and driven members.
