Abstract

A yarn winding device for forming yarn supply packages for a loom includes preF. several spindles driven by a motor and the motor also driven via a speed reduction device a crank arm engaging in a slideway of the support bar of a yarn traverse guide, whereby to reciprocate the guide. The guide may include several ceramic guide eyelets for respective spindles and the traverse guide pref. reciprocates between stops. Alternatively the motor may drive the traverse guide support bar via worm in one of the spindles which drives a gear wheel carrying a crank pin engaging in the slideway. The device is simple, uses a single motor, and can form several packages simultaneously.
