Abstract

1417137 Driving spindles SIEMENS AG 23 Nov 1972 [25 Nov 1971] 54263/72 Heading D1D [Also in Divisions F2 and H2] A rotary electric motor 3 drives a member 6 having an internal cylindrical surface which drivingly engages an output shaft 2, the latter thereby being driven at very high speed. The apparatus is used to drive the twist head in an open-end spinning machine, and the cylindrical surface is povided either by a hollow rotor shaft (as in Fig. 1) or by a can-shaped member coupled to the rotor shaft (Fig. 2, not shown). The output shaft 2 is held against the cylindrical surface either magnetically (8) or by rotatable discs (Fig. 3, not shown).
