Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce moment of inertia by directly coupling the rotor of a DC motor for driving magnetic head to the revolving shaft of a rotating arm. CONSTITUTION:A revolving shaft 6 is supported by bearings 9, 9' rotatably to housing 10. Further the revolving shaft 6 is revolved by a DC motor and the rotor 7 of the DC motor is directly coupled to one end of the revolving shaft 6. A stator 8 is fixed to the housing 10 in the position concentrical to this rotor 7. Thereby, the simplification of the construction and the increased magnetic head operation speed may be achieved.
