Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the cooling effect when the subject motor is operated at a low speed as well as to hole down the rotatioae loss, generated at a high speed operation, to the minimum by a method wherein a cooling fan is attached to a rotary shaft through the clutch which is mounted in such manner that it is coupled when the rotating shaft is rotated at a low speed and is released when rotated at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:The cooling fan 9 is mounted on the rotary shaft 5 through the intermediary of a bearing 8 and then the clutch 10 is placed in such manner that it is coupled when the rotary shaft 5 is rotated at a low speed and is released when rotated at a high speed. In such a clutch as clutch 10, the roller clutch, which will be coupled when the rotary shaft 5 rotates clockwise and is released when the shaft rotates counterclockwise, can be utilized. Accordingly, a current is applied on a stator winding 2 in such manner that the rotor rotates counterclockwise when a low speed revolution is desired and rotates clockwise when a high speed revolution is desired, thereby enabling to operate the cooling fan 9 simultaneously when rotates at a low speed and the cooling fan 9 does not rotate when the rotor rotates at a high speed.
