Abstract

732,672. Spinning-mules. ,T. M. M. (RESEARCH), Ltd. Feb. 6, 1953 [March 25, 1952], No. 7656/52. Divided out of 732,671. Drawings to Specification. Class 120(2). Backing-off mechanism for a mule includes a normally ineffective driving connection between the tin roller and a prime mover which is separate from that which drives the spindles in their normal direction for spinning and winding, means for rendering the prime mover automatically effective during the backing-off period and also at the end of the inward run of the carriage and means for rendering the driving connection effective during the backing-off period to enable the prime mover to drive the tin roller in reverse simultaneously with the movement of the faller to its inoperative position. The prime mover is preferably a reversible electric motor located on the carriage and the driving connection includes electromagnetically locked differential gears. The subject-matter of this Specification is included in that of Specification 732,665. The Provisional Specification also refers to Specification 732,671.
