Abstract
1,213,302. Reversing gearing. MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER A.G. 28 Sept., 1967 [8 Nov., 1966], No. 44197/67. Heading F2D. [Also in Divisions D1-D2] In Fig. 1 the driving drum 7 engaging a yarn package 8 is connected to a drive-motor 10 through a clutch 14; when this is engaged bevels 12, 15 are also engaged to drive rollers 4 in the take-off direction. When a feeler 3 detects a fall in tension in the yarn, a solenoid 20 is energized to separate the clutch and engage bevels 13, 17 so that the direction of rollers 4 is reversed. In Fig. 2 (not shown), a drum (22) is continuously driven. Rollers (24, 28) are geared to it so that they rotate in opposite directions. During normal working, a roller (23) mounted on a pivoted arm nips roller (24) to withdraw the yarn. When the tension falls, solenoids (30, 31) are energized; solenoid (30) transfers roller (23) to roller (28) so that the yarn is fed back, and solenoid (31) causes a brake to engage and lift the package off the drum. In Fig. 4 a roller 36 on a pivoted arm and coupled to one of a pair of yarn withdrawing rollers, engages a continuously-driven roller 34. When, the roller 36 is transferred from roller 34 to the inner surface of a segment connected to roller 34, the withdrawing rollers are driven in reverse and at a faster speed. In Fig. 5 (not shown), nip-rollers (45, 46) are driven in yarn withdrawing-direction from a continuously-driven shaft (51), roller (46) being coupled with a larger roller (49) spring-urged into contact with the shaft, and roller (45) being spring-urged away from the shaft. When roller (45) is moved on to shaft (51), thereby forcing roller (49) away from the shaft, is Lriven faster and in the reverse direction. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,074,788.
