398,645. Friction clutches. NAKASHIAN, L. L., 34, Marble Street, Worcester, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Sept. 22, 1932, No. 26378. Convention date, July 11. [Class 80 (ii).] In centrifugal friction clutches, particularly for obtaining unloaded starting of electromotors, wedgeshaped weights 15 slide radially in slots in a driving flange 13 against adjustable springs 16 and engage correspondingly tapered registering slots 22 in presserplates 20, which act to thrust friction discs 21 against a flange 5 of the driven shaft and the end wall 11 of a drum 10 secured to the flange 5. The flange 13 extends from a sleeve 7 on the driving-shaft 1, supported in bearings 6, 12 of the driven member.
