Abstract
392,159. Controlling motor vehicles. HULL, H. E., Wardman Park Hotel, Washington, U.S.A. Nov. 2, 1931, No. 433/33. Divided on 381,369. [Class 79 (v).] The brake pedal 100a and the accelerator pedal 110 are located in substantially the same vertical plane, and the lever 100 carrying the brake peda has an arm 101 which extends be low the brake pedal and to which the accelerator pedal is pivoted so as to be capable of movement independently of the brake pedal. The accelerator pedal acts on the throttle lever 17 through a link 31, lever 150, and a chain 140 which passes round the shaft of the lever 100 so that the throttle control is not affected by the application of the brake.
