505,645. Controlling motor vehicles. GYGER, G. Aug. 9, 1937, No. 21897. Void. Convention date, Aug. 8, 1936. [Class 79 (v)] The accelerator and brake pedal 2 is pivoted at 7 on a boss 4 fixed to the brake lever shaft 3, so that when the pedal is depressed the lever 17 is rocked to apply the brakes, but when the pedal is moved laterally about the pivot 7 a roller 8 on the pedal bears against and rocks a lever 11 to control the throttle 19. A spring 12 urges the lever 11 towards the pedal to an extent limited by an adjustable stop 13, and the pedal is guided on one side by a fixed guide 14. The throttle can only be operated when the brake is released, since, when the pedal is depressed the roller 8 on the pedal moves out of contact with the lever 11. The pedal is formed with side flanges 16 to prevent the driver's foot from slipping laterally thereon.
