Abstract

383,082. Ships' hatch covers. FIND. LAY, A., 9, Grantham Avenue, West Hartlepool, Co. Durham. Dec. 7, 1931, No. 33833. [Class 113 (i).] In ships' hatch covers of the type in which the hatch sections run on wheels on tracks on the coaming so that, when the hatch is to be opened, they can be run to one end of the hatch and be tipped there into vertical position, the abutting edges of the sections 10 rest on transverse beams 30 which are supported in the hatch coaming. When the sections are to be traversed, the weight is transferred to the rollers 19, Fig. 6, by operating the screws 32, 33. Packings and pieces 20 are inserted between and around the sections. Specification 321,741, [Class 113 (i), Ship and boat fittings &c.], is referred to.
