344,324. Hatch covers for ships. GÍBEL, L., 31, Bleichstrasse, Altona, Germany. July 11, 1930, No. 21048. [Class 113 (i).] A hatch cover is provided with double packings comprising the packing g<1> secured to the cover sections by angles a and designed to co-operate with the beaded upstanding edge of the hatch coaming and the packing g<2> mounted on angles c on the exterior of the hatch and designed to cooperate with the beaded downwardly-directed edge of the hatch sections. A similar construction is applied to the hatch beams which are provided with upstanding edges e. The sections are fastened to the coamings by bolts l.
