Abstract

686,015. Hatches. TRIGGS, W. W. (Walker, L., and Walker, V.). March 19, 1951. [March 27, 1950] No. 7584/50. Class 113 (i). A hatchway is closed by flush hatchcovers 3, hinged to the deck by long link hinges so that the covers lie flat on the deck when open. The covers carry self erecting coamings 17, and devices for erecting the guard chains 24. Folding beams 10 to stiffen the cover are guided into a position at right angles to the cover when it is closed. Packings and drainage channels are fitted round each cover.
