Convention date, Oct. 27, 1930. [Class 100 (iii).] Clamping matrices ; driving-mechanism.-A safety device is provided to prevent the machine from being started when the vice-frame is open. The driving-clutch E, Fig. 2, is, as heretofore, operated by a lever g and a sliding bar f from either of two hand-levers a, b located at the front and back of the machine respectively. When the vice-frame H, Fig. 4, is opened, a pivoted detent q, which is normally supported by a pin o on the vice-frame, falls and engages a lug u on the bar f, so that the bar cannot be drawn forwards to start the machine.
