Abstract

[Class 100 (iii)] Metal-pots; ; driving-mechanism.-Means are provided for automatically stopping the machine when the advance of the metal-pot is arrested before the mouth piece is presented against the face of the mould. The pot is operated in known manner by a cam 22 acting through a lever 20, which is pivoted to the pot at its upper end, and at its lower end is connected to the pot through a spring 26, which yields when the forward movement is arrested. According to the invention, a lever 51 is so arranged that the lower end of the lever 20 rests immediately behind one arm when the pot moves forwards without obstruction, the other arm of the lever 51 being immediately in front of a stud on the fare-and-aft rod 48, that operates the driving- clutch. When the pot is arrested before the mouthpiece reaches the mould, additional movement is imparted by the cam 22 to the lower end of the lever 20, so that the lever 51 is rocked and the clutch is disengaged.
