Abstract
375,145. Beverages. HANSENA AKT., GES., Glarus, Switzerland. Sept. 11, 1931. No. 25555. Convention date, Dec. 2, 1930. [Class 14 (ii).] The immature odoriferous constituents are removed from beer or beer in course of manufacture by spreading the beer saturated with carbon dioxide in a thin layer under such conditions of temperature and pressure-that the carbon dioxide and immature odiferous constituents are removed. The beer is passed out between plates d in a stream e which impinges the walls a of a container and collects at the bottom. A stream of carbon dioxide is directed outwards and downwards from an opening f<1> in an annular pipe f and the gas and immature constituents are removed by the pipe h. The upper part of the container is heated by hot water in a jacket k and the lower part is cooled by cold water in a jacket kl.
