Abstract
302,292. Chilowsky, C. Dec. 13, 1927, [Convention date]. Oil gas condensers, atmospheric and the like.-The gaseous products produced by the partial combustion of oil gas in air are purified by passing them upwards over the inclined or vertical water-cooled surfaces of metal walls down which the products of condensation trickle. The gases produced in a generator 1 are passed through an opening 2 into a container 3 cooled by circulation of water in a double wall 4, and then circulate upwardly in tubes 5 down the sides of which the condensed oils and tars trickle. The combustion chamber may also be situated above or below the cooling chamber and the hot gases leaving the chamber may be mixed with gases already cooled and circulated in a closed circuit by a fan.
