Condensers, atmospheric and like; oil gas.- The gaseous products formed by the partial combustion of oil in air are purified by passing them through a condenser comprising one or more metal tubes of large cross section externally cooled by water and accessible for cleaning. The cooling chamber 2 is surrounded by a water jacket 3 and leads to a further air-cooled jacket 5. In a modification, the purifier comprises a radiator formed of several tubes of large cross section located within a water jacket. A plant suitable for mounting on a lorry driven by gas from heavy oil comprises a combustion chamber 11 Fig. 3, and a purifier 12 cooled by water from the engine radiator 13.
