Abstract
370,297. Discharge apparatus. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. July 30, 1931, No. 21788. Convention date, Nov. 22, 1930. Addition to 327,048, [Class 39 (i), Electric lamps, Arc &c.]. [Class 39 (i).] Grids of the type described in the parent Specification are constructed of a core of a metal of high melting-point, preferably tungsten or molybdenum, which core is at least partly covered on its surface with zirconium. In one construction, zirconium wire 7 is wound helically over the core wire 6, The metal anode 1 forms part of the container. It is stated that the zirconium reduces secondary emission from the grid and acts as a getter during the manufacture of a valve. Specification 330,403, [Class 39 (i), .Electric lamps, Arc &c.], is referred to.
