Abstract
277,997. Allgemeine Elektricitõts- Ges. Sept. 23, 1926, [Convention date]. Vacuum tubes.-A cathode comprises one or more alkaline earth or other electron emitting oxides supported solely by one or more oxides, for instance of niobium, tungsten, molybdenum, chromium or uranium, which do not volatilize or dissociate at the working temperature. The supporting oxide may be formed as a rod or tube bv pressing with a binding agent, extruding, and drawing off the binding agent by heating in a vacuum or inert gas, the electron-emitting oxides being deposited subsequently on the rod etc.; or a mixture of the supporting and emitting oxides may be used. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a cathode in which the supporting oxide is sprayed in suspension on a metal support, or the corresponding metal is coated on a metal support and oxidized, the electron-emitting oxides being deposited subsequently. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
