Abstract
207,514. Western Electric Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Harris, J. E.). Nov. 27, 1922, [Convention date]. Vacuum tubes. - The cathode of a valve comprises uranium. A filament of uranium or an alloy of uranium with tungsten, tantalum or other refractory element may be used, or powdered uranium may be contained in a boat 8 of molvbdenum mounted on metallic frames 6, 7 below an anode 9 which is carried by a support 3 extending from a reentrant etem 2. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), comprises also the use of other metals having a relatively high melting point, a low rate of volatilization, and a thermionic activity of the same order as the alkaline earth oxides. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
