Abstract

401,471. Discharge devices. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Sept. 12, 1932, No. 25361. Convention date, Sept. 12, 1931. [Drawings to Specification. Class 39 (i).] In a gas-filled discharge tube, such as a rectifier having an incandescent cathode, the main body of each anode consists of carbon, particularly graphite, the surface of which is wholly or partly polished to prevent disintegration thereof and the blackening of the tube walls. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states also that the invention relates to carbon-coated metal anodes, and that the anodes may be purified by chemical means or by means of a glow discharge. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
