Abstract

406,905. Thermionic cathodes. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. June 27, 1933, No. 18319. Convention date, June 27, 1932. [Class 39 (i).] Metallic oxide for a thermionic cathode is enclosed in a metal container having not less than 49 perforations per square millimeter, e.g. nickel wire gauze. Fig. 2 shows an indirectly heated cathode having a heating filament 1 enclosed in insulation 4 and a metal tube 5, outside which are the oxide 2 and metal gauze 3. Fig. 3 shows a cathode with a small emissive area for Braun tubes &c. comprising a body 7 of pencil shape enclosing a heater 6 and having a mass of oxide 2 at its end covered with gauze 3 of 81 meshes per square millimeter.
