Abstract
357,774. Thermionic valves. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13A, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Sept. 23, 1930, No. 28469. Convention date, March 4. [Class 39 (i).] A rectifying or other discharge tube having an incandescent cathode and an anode 1 shielded by a screen 5 is provided with an end or bottom wall 6 to the screen to shield the back of the anode. The wall 6 is provided with an aperture through which the insulated anode stem passes to which the screen may be attached by a flange 7. The screen may be cylindrical and the sides may merge gradually into the rear wall as shown in Fig. 2. An annular space 8 may be formed in the anode as shown in Fig. 1 and the screen may be attached to the anode stem by cement, friction, or by a clamping ring round the flange 7. The screen may be perforated and made of insulating material or metal gauze &c.
