Abstract

383,133. Thermionic valves. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Feb. 24, 1932, No. 5575. Convention date, May 20, 1931. [Class 39 (i).] In valves having electrode supports mounted on a pinch, one or more supports 11 are mounted in the free ends of insulating tubes 16 sealed to the pinch and have a cross section less than the internal cross section of the tubes so as to be freely movable longitudinally within the tubes. A leading- in wire 17 may pass through the tube 16 and may be secured to the support 11 by spot welding or by a hook 18 attached to, the support which may be clinched around the wire ; or the leading-in wire may be taken through the wall of the stem. The filament 6 may be supported and tensioned'by hooks 20 mounted on a glass rod 13, which may be supported from, and spaced behind the anode 4 by rods 14. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts comprises also a modification in which the ends of the supports may be flattened and enlarged so as to grip the tubes firmly. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
