[Class 123 (i).] Electrolytic corrosion of water-cooled electrodes of electric-discha,rge devices and their water-pipe connections is prevented by means of one or more cells which are connected in the water circuit and comprise one or more carbon electrodes adapted to be connected to the cooled electrode. A glass or porcelain cell G has a cylindrical carbon electrode K, which is formed with one or more holes for the passage of the water, and is connected to a screwed metal cap D by a glass-covered conductor R. The glass tube L is cemented into the electrode.
