Abstract
363,822. Fire-extinguishers. FOAMITE FIREFOAM, Ltd. and GILBERT, V. G. W., 55, Great Marlborough Street, London. Dec. 16, 1930, No. 37962. [Class 47 (ii).] The valve 4 of the inner vessel 2 of an inversion extincteur is operated by a rotary cam 18 mounted between ears 16 on the filler cap 9 of the extincteur. The cam, which is operated by a lever 22, comprises discs 18 eccentrically mounted in spaced relation on a pin 17 and formed with inturned peripheral flanges 18a. The upper end of the valve stem 13 is reduced and carries a pin 19 between the discs. In opening the valve, the inner surfaces of the flanges 18a engage the pin 19. In closing it, the outer surfaces of the flanges engage shoulders 13a on the valve stem. The latter is in two telescoping parts 12, 13 held apart by a spring 14. A flat on the cam discs locks the valve in closed position. The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 332,922, [Class 47 (ii), Fire-extinguishing &c.].
