Abstract

499,382. Fire-extinguishers. FOAMITE, Ltd., and GILBERT, V. G. W. July 21, 1937, No. 20203. [Class 47 (ii)] In a foam extincteur, the valve 10 which closes the inner container 6 and the valve 4 which closes the entrance to the chamber 8 connected to the nozzle 3 are controlled simultaneously by a cam 18 operated by a hand lever 7. The cam is such that it both opens and closes the valves positively by engagement with shoulders on the valve stem 11. The valve 4 is slidable on the stem under pressure of a spring 12, and the valve 10 is carried by a rod 14 slidable in a bore in the stem and biassed by a spring 13.
