Abstract

790,214. Manually-actuated valves. BAKER, F. Aug. 11, 1955 [Sept. 1, 1954], No. 25348/54. Class 135. A compressed-air spraying nozzle or blowgun comprises a body with a valve chamber 4 containing an axially movable valve member 11 coacting with a seat 7 between the chamber and a coaxial reduced bore 5 in which an operating stem 12 is slidable. An inlet bore 9 leads to the chamber 4, which is closed by a plug 6, and an outlet bore 10 leads from the bore 5 above the valve seat. The arrangement is such that inlet pressure closes the valve and a spring is unnecessary. In a modification, the inlet and outlet bores 9, 10 are at right angles to each other, the bore 9 opening coaxially into the bottom of the chamber 4. Specification 694,394 is referred to.
