Abstract
675,689. Pressure-regulating valves. HYMATIC ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Feb. 1, 1951 [Feb. 8, 1950], No. 3240/50. Class 135. An air pressure reducing valve comprises a body g with an inlet a and an outlet b, a piston closure member loaded on its lower end by inlet air pressure and on its upper end by a spring k and the outlet air pressure, and a relief valve i for maintaining the pressure beneath the piston constant. The inlet a branches into passages f, one of which connects with the chamber beneath the piston through an orifice o. The piston has an annular groove m<SP>1</SP> and ports m which connect the passages f with the outlet when the piston is in raised position, and a deflector n directs air from the ports to the outlet. A relief valve a prevents excess pressure building up in the outlet, and exhaust ports q cope 'with leakage past the piston.
