Abstract

952,007. Valves. KOOPERATIVA FOR- . BUNDET EKONOMISK FORENING. Feb. 23, 1962 [Feb. 23, 1961], No. 7170/62. Heading F2V. A valve comprises a cylindrical housing 1 having an inlet 4 and an outlet 5. A tubular member 18 is situated'in the housing to form an annular flow path between the member and the housing. A valve closure member 11 has a piston part 16, slidable in the member 18, and a ring 12 connected to the piston by struts 15 forming flow ports. The ring 12 carries an O- ring 14 which seats on the end of the member 18 when the valve is closed. To open the valve, compressed air is fed to an inlet 23, and passages 22, 21 to the member 18 and acts on the piston 16 to raise the valve closure allowing flow from the inlet 4 through the ports between the struts. When the air is exhausted, the valve closes rapidly under the action of the fluid on the upper side of the piston 16.
