945,961. Fluid-pressure servomotor control systems. SOC. DU CARBURATEUR ZENITH. April 7, 1961 [April 7, 1960), No. 12678/61. Heading G3P. [Also in Division F2] Valves. With the outlet valve 31, Fig. 2, open due to connecting a hose to a union 29, and a pilot valve 15 closed, a main valve 3 is seated by the combined action of a spring 4 and the inlet fluid pressure conveyed to a chamber 8, via an orifice 11 and conduit 10 in the valve 3 where it acts on a piston 5 connected to the valve; this area of the piston is about twice that of the valve against which the inlet pressure acts in the valve opening direction. Upon opening the pilot valve 15 the chamber 8 is connected through passageways 14a, b and c to the outlet 13 and the valve 3<SP>1</SP> is opened by the inlet pressure whereupon the inlet 2 is connected to the outlet 13. The chamber 9 beneath the piston 5 is open to the outlet 13 by one or more orifices 12. Fluid-pressure servomotor. Disposed in the outlet 13 is a flow-responsive arm A, C, Fig. 3, on rotatable shaft D, which also supports an obturator E in the passage 14b, the shaft being loaded by an adjustable two-position toggle-spring H so that upon a given flow velocity in the outlet 13, Fig. 2, the arm A is rotated to cause the obturator E to close the passageway 14b so that pressure again builds up in chamber 8, and the main valve 3<SP>1</SP> closes. A spring-loaded button is provided for re-opening the obturator E. The obturator may be solenoid actuated.
