Abstract

Extincteurs.-In a fire-extinguisher of the kind in which a valve B closing an inner, acid receptacle a has a spindle b projecting through the cap D and is held closed by a spring b<1>, the cap D is provided with a sleeve extension E having straight slots e in which slide pins d on the spindle b. After raising the handle b<2> to open the valve B, a slight rotation of the spindle moves the pins away from the slots e and so prevents the re-closing of the valve by the spring b<1>. The valve may be single or double-seated, and the spindle may be hollow or solid. Specifications 222,234 and 228,321 are referred to.
