Abstract

Extincteurs. - In a fireextinguisher of the type having separate receptacles for gas producing liquids, one receptacle is sealed by a valve carried by a spindle which closes the outlet passage for the liquid, when the valve is closed, and opens it when the valve is open. The extinguisher comprises receptacles 1, 5, connected by a screwed cap 3. The inner receptacle has ports 6 and a valve seat 7 closed by a lift valve 8. The valve is opened by a spindle 10 and handle 11 against a spring 9. The valve is maintained open by a pin 12 rotated above a collar 13. The liquids can then mix through the ports 6. The outlet passage 14 is normally closed by the spindle 10 which is preferably of greater diameter than the passage. The spindle 10 is, however, provided with a narrow neck 16 or a corresponding perforation or passage which opens the passage 14 when the valve 8 is raised. The valve 8 may have a strainer 21.
