Portable pressure reservoirs. - In a fire-extinguisher of the kind comprising a container a charged with a liquid permanently under pressure, a dip tube 6 which conducts the liquid to the main valve 8 and outlet b is normally closed at its lower end by a spring-pressed valve 3. When the main valve is opened by rotating the screw f, a rod 7 simultaneously opens the valve 3. A gravity latch 10 is arranged to fall into engagement with a notch in the screw-operating handle if the extinguisher is inverted to prevent opening of the valve 8 in this position.
