Abstract
541,602. Fire extinguishers. TURBULAYR PRODUCTS, Ltd., and POLLOCK, Sir J. D. Aug. 5, 1940, Nos. 12579 and 13075. [Class 47 (ii)] A fire extinguisher comprises a container in which water &c. can be placed under air pressure and from which it can pass either as a jet or spray which can be operated separately, or simultaneously. In the form shown, the container 1 is fitted with a filling cap 4 from which a tube projects into the container and is of such a length that when the container is charged lying on its side only a suitable amount of water can be poured in. A dip tube 10 extends to the bottom from a four way connection 9, the other branches leading to a spray pipe 13, a jet! hose 16, and a pressure gauge 16; the jet and spray connections are fitted with valves 14, 11. A pump 17 is carried on the container for supplying air through a valve in the filling cap, and the vessel is fitted with handles 2 and 3 the former being larger so that the lower end of the dip tube will be covered when the container rests on the handles. In a modification, the pump is permanently connected and is used to supply water; a connection may also be made with a water main.
