Abstract

522,885. Delivery liquid by air-pressure to a spray nozzle. FLY-TOX. March 17, 1939, No. 8607. Convention date, March 23, 1938. [Class 102 (ii)] An appliance for delivering liquid by air pressure to a spray nozzle comprises a metallic container 1 provided with a pressure-tight cover 5, a connection 22 for the spray nozzle passing through the bottom of the container, a connection 9 at the upper part of the container for some external source of compressed air, and a handoperated air pump 11 connected to the container by a tube 17 extending from the bottom of the pump to the top of the container. The interior of the container may be protected from the liquid by coating it with lacquer, enamel, or lead, whilst the hinged cover 5 is held down by eye nuts 7, and is rendered pressure-tight by means of grease-soaked asbestos cord 8 in a dove-tailed groove. The container is mounted on three feet, one, 3, of which is in the form of a stirrup so that the appliance can be held in position by foot. A plug 19 is provided for emptying the pump 11 and the outlet connection 22 is fitted with a metallic gauze filter 23.
