Abstract
355,845. Driving-gear. MAHER, B. S., 297, Lenox Avenue, Oakland, California, U.S.A. June 5, 1930, No. 17471. [Class 7 (ii).] Motion is transmitted to a power shaft 11 from an engine crank shaft through spur gearing comprising an idler 13, a wheel 7 on the crank shaft and a pinion 12 on the shaft 11. The idler is smaller than the wheel 7 and larger than the pinion. The axis of the crank shaft lies to one side of the axis of cylinder 1. A pump 9 is driven from the wheel 7 through a gear wheel, as shown in the Figure.
