Valve gear.-In engines having cylinders arranged in two or more. inclined rows, the cam shafts 14 are driven by intermediate shafts 13, 11 provided with pinions 10 gearing with a pinion 9 on a shaft 7, the upper end of which carries a pinion 8 engaging a pinion 6 on a shaft 5 driven by gear wheels 2, 3, 4 from the crank shaft 1. The shafts 11 and 13 are connected together by prismatic couplings 12, and the shaft 5 may be in two parts coupled together by the hub of the pinion 6.
