290,975. Farman, H., and Farman, M., (trading as Farman, H. et M.). May 21, 1927, [Convention date]. Force-feed lubricating.-In an intemal-combustion engine with downwardly radiating cylinders the cam shafts are driven by gearing arranged at the same end of the engine as the propeller shaft. The cam shaft of the central row of cylinders drives the oil pump H, Fig. 4, arranged at the other end of the engine to the gearing. In a modification the oil pump T, Fig. 6, is at the same end as the gearing; oil filters X<1>, X<2>, Fig. 8, are in a casing below the cam shaft case which contains the oil pipes V<1>, V<2>.
